Taganga

From Cartagena, 6 of us from the boat headed up the Caribbean Coast to a beach town near Santa Marta called Taganga.

Once upon a time, it was a tiny fishing village - I imagine it to used to be a bit like Gigante, but now is just massively overrun with people and there is a huge struggle for the locals to keep up with everything!

Even the 'lesser known' Playa Grande in the next bay was so packed with people that you could barely find a place to sit or swim. It was definitely not one of my favourite places of the trip, put it that way!

Nevertheless it was still a picturesque setting and it was nice to hold onto a few more days at the beach as these would be our last for a while in South America.

We spent a couple of days here, doing the standard tanning by day and drinking by night.
